UPDATE Dorian downgraded (July 28-2013)

This morning, the remnants of what was days ago TS Dorian have been downgraded to Invest 91L. With winds of only 34 Mph Invest 91L is experiencing several factors that do not promote tropical cyclone development.

Late yesterday Dorian ran into an area of dry air and began to ingest it into circulation. Constant westerly shear also contributed to the demise of cyclone development as well.

Because there is still a small chance (30%) this area may still develop into a tropical system, the NHC has labeled it an area of interest (Invest). We will continue to monitor this area, although models do not show predictions that extend to the Gulf of Mexico or Caribbean.

For this reason, the Digi Net will not activate to monitor status. We will however continue to listen on the net frequency for stations wishing to continue to practice message send and receive.
